Acoustic signals of rotating drums generated based on DEM simulations

Acoustic emission (AE) or vibration signal has been applied in detecting operations of grinding mills many industries. This paper proposes an approach to generate AE signals based on the particle-wall impacts. Through a combination multi-mode vibrations and calibration key parameters, model was able reproduce experimental data. The then implemented into discrete element method (DEM) modelling particle flow rotating mill. mill under different filling levels rotation speeds were generated analysed, mainly focusing frequency magnitude each mode. link between impact energy explored.
